After the Rain

Bill Harrison reports:

The Ellis house survived the Saturday winds and rain thanks to our extra bracing, a tight house wrap and a sealed floor. We were also smart to saw out the doorways bottom plates so most of the water could escape. In spite of that, today's examination revealed 1/2" of water accumulation. Managed to drain it and sweep so it will dry faster tomorrow. The flooring is made of a dense material called Advantek, which can withstand water for a lengthy period. However, we want that roof on by Tuesday so we will have it in the dry.

See the photo taken Sunday afternoon and note the bottom plate installed this past Friday for the front porch, which is being built Monday, April 26th. Back porch header was also installed.
